Merrick the Model

I assembled this page for those interested in knowing more about my goal as a model and what you'll get if you work with me. Some of this stuff is repeated from other sections of the site, but it doesn't hurt to have it all in one place either. :)

Why?
I feel it's important to start with this. A huge part of why I started modeling is because, like a good portion of the world, I am just tired of only seeing extremes in the modeling industry. Rarely do I see a median, a representation of the majority of women. So instead of continuing to whine about how fetish or fashion photographers seemed to prefer thin women/very athletic women/hapilly plus-sized women, I decided to just do it myself (lest I be a hypocrite). That's my main goal here: I'm doing my part to change the face (and body) of beauty for all the other wonderfully average women out there.

Availability
My schedule is very flexible, and I can almost always find time to schedule a shoot. Contact me for details.
Location
I live in just outside Portland, in the Beaverton/Tigard area. I do not drive, but I can travel to locations within the Portland area (and anywhere else TriMet can take me). If you'd like to shoot somewhere outside the range, help with transportation would be appreciated, or we can arrange a chaperone to drive me (this limits availability somewhat).
Styles
I am open to doing most any type of modeling! My appearance lends well to pin-up, burlesque, alternative, industrial, vintage, fetish, nude, and more extreme/concept work. I have a personaly affinity for cosplay, couture, and bondage work. I also enjoy doing your typical fashion/lifestyle modeling, but I'll admit that looking like a "normal" model comes less naturally to me. ;)
Live Events
I am actually really interested in participating in more live events! Whether it's go-go dancing on a stage, lounging on a hot car, or hawking wares in a booth, I enjoy the unique social interactions of live events. I do request paid compensation for such gigs, but would also be willing to trade for goods if I like what you have. I am also more than happy to offer myself as a spokesperson for businesses—as long as I believe in the product or service.
Hair, Makeup, Wardrobe
I am very capable with make-up, from natural to more extreme styles, and usually prefer to do my own for any shoot. Hair, however, is more difficult, mainly because I have a lot of it and don't enjoy doing elaborate styles. I have a good selection of both vintage and modern clothing styles and lingerie that I am happy to bring along to any shoot. Just let me know what you're looking for and I'll pack a suitcase of options.
TF* Work
Much of my work is for personal fulfillment and not monetary gain. I am always interested in trading for prints/digital copies with photographers and others who I feel could give me a challenge or add something new and different to my portfolio. Extra consideration will be given to photographers who are willing to allow me to publish the images here; there is a contract involved so please read this and then contact me for more info.
Paid Work
I am by no means a "professional" model, but in situations where I do not feel TF* is appropriate I will ask a reasonable fee, either hourly or per look depending on what is being shot. Again, contact me for details.
